Yesterday one incident really triggered me o think how much we expect our education system and what values we are putting up in the education system. The IB lecture yesterday, 5 to 8 PM, few students in my class had come drunk. On first instance, I thought probably my smelling senses are taking me for a ride but when I reconfirmed that they are drunk, I was just feeling like slapping these bastards.
I accept that to drink or not to drink is an individual choice left to the people. Everyone has a right to decide whatever he wants. But when you come for a lecture, you should have enough respect for the system. And coming drunk is definitely not the way to show the respect. And i was really wondering what concentration he was able to generate in the drunk state.
And the worst part is one of these guys is our Class Representative. I am wondering in what way he is representing the class.
I remember a year back, when I was a professor; one guy has once dared to come to my lecture drunk thinking he won’t be caught. And I had expelled him for a week from college. He himself later came to me and said that he felt bad for the incident.
And when the institute talks about developing global leadership through value based education, we can definitely see some *leaders* in making through *values based education*. God Bless Us..!!!
