Yesterday I had to go to Vashi to meet a friend. The odds started when my friend already left her house and I was not ready to leave. As I was getting ready, could not find any jeans to wear. Somehow managed to find a jeans and left. Leaving from Bandra was well ok getting train in time. But as I reached Vadala where I need to change train, I could see a train waiting on another platform. Happily I got down from my train and ran towards it, the train left. Just with a difference of couple of seconds, I missed the train. Waiting for 15 minutes, I got another train and reached Vashi somehow.

As I entered Center one mall in Vashi and took out my cell to call her and ask where she is, I realised bloody airtel had no coverage. No issues. I’ve extra mobile. So I took out another mobile just to realise it was switched off due to low battery. I walked around whole food court, visited every single store to look out for her and finally after 15 minutes saw her at ground floor going towards exit. Ran immediately to exit just to find her no where.

Finally somehow managed to locate her and we met. And the meet was as interesting as the number of odds.

Joining the 700 Club

I can’t believe this. I have actually written 700 posts on my blog. 700 is like big number. Atleast for someone like me who started with blogging just because Hardik was poking me to do so. He was the one who always forced me to scribble something on my blog. Thanks Hardik for introducing em to the concept of blogging.

In the course of time as I started writing on a regular basis, I got introduced to community events such as BlogCamps, Barcamps, Startup Saturday. And with the socialisation process, got introduced to many other bloggers. I know I’m not very regular in updating my blogroll, but believe you me I have always enjoyed and will continue to enjoy reading every on of you. Thanks for putting up so nice posts on your blogs, which often provoked my thought process and I got some contents to scribble through the thought process.

Way back in 2006, there were some issues related to a blog post on one of my other blogs. I had to delete the complete blog following the issue and political pressure building up. In the tough time, my friends and family stood behind me and supported me. Though I still feel bad for not fighting enough and having removed the blog, I am proud of my family and my friends who stood behind me in bad times of mine. I am grateful to my family and friends for the same.

I also got couple of friends to write guest post on my blog. Thanks Unitechy and Raxit for the guest posts. You provided me fantastic contents and my blog will always be thankful to you.

I can’t really boast of a huge reader base. I mean a base of 85,000 {I reseted the counter once it touched 50,000} in 4 years is not any big achievement to boast of. But I’m always lucky enough to get some geniune readers who bookmarked my blog, subscribed to RSS and kept coming back to my blog. They often commented on the posts, dropped me mails and SMSes of appreciation and criticism. Some of them called me to criticise what they did not like in my post or to appreciate what they enjoyed reading in my post. I am always thankful to all the people who have visited my blog in the tenure of last 4 years. Please keep supporting me and my blog in the same way.

So I was traveling back to Mumbai on 28th Dec, 08 which was a Sunday night after just finished Christmas holidays of many people working / studying in Mumbai and home in Marathwada. And the scenes happened during the journey. Te period, as very obvious, was a high on rail traffic. People were returning back from their homes after enjoying the holidays and very few of them managed to get a confirmed reservation.

Incident 1: Jalna Station. The train is 40 minutes late. And as it arrives, I go to my sleeper coach compartment and shocked to see people hanging out from it. No space to enter. Somehow manage to get in and it takes me 14 minutes to reach my seat. And whoaa… 4 people already sitting in my seat. I ask them to get up as it is my seat. They say, “we will get up in few minutes. We’ve to get down at next station only”. Ok.. Agreed cause they were marwaris and they knew one of my best friend’s dad {as found out by the references they provided}. Then they start inquiring about me. What I do, where i study, previous qualification, dad’s business, place of stay, birth date.

Well, birth date? What is that to do with anything? Well, you didn’t get the ping here. They were looking at me as future groom for some bride hiding somewhere in the corner of the world. Not interested.. So all that happens, I am standing there for 20 minute when one of the four people realises this and offers me a seat. Thank you sir. I’m highly honored that you finally realised..!!!
After few minutes, I get to my mobile tweeting. And no one of us really talks. At next station, they all get up and start walking to door. No one even bothering to say Thanks or even sorry for the trouble. And as I was thinking how people don’t have the decency to thanks or oppologise, a lady from the group comes to me and asks “Does the full berth belong to you?” Yes ma’m. I’ve paid 374 fucking rupees for this. I’m not here without reservation sitting on others’ berths..

Incident 2: As soon as the four people get down, one fat {the word fat appears very small for her but its ok} lady comes and sits on the berth saying that she wants to sit there just 2 minutes. I wait as the trains tarts moving, but the lady doesn’t get up. And its midnight already so I’m sleepy. I show the signs that I’m uncomfortable. She says “You can spread your legs if you want”. Where ma’m? You are so fat that I don’t have any place to spread legs. But I tell this politely and she gives me an angry look and says “I was sitting only for a minute” Ya right. Last 10 minute contribute to only a minute.

Incident 3: As the fatso gets off from m seat, one old {and apparently well educated} uncle comes to me and requests for some space till next station. I give flat refusal. He requests very politely and I could not refuse. But this time, I’m lucky that the man is understanding. Gives me proper scope for stretching my legs. And sits in whatever smaller space remains.

And once third station is passed, I swear not to give any space for anyone now.

I “I have crush on you”.
She: How dare you have a crush on me?

For a moment, I felt as if a Police inspector is asking me, “How dare you kill Mr Gupta? Well, I never knew having a crush on a girl is really that big crime like killing someone.

I: “What do you mean by How dare you? I got crush on you and it just happened”.
She: “I’m not that kind of girl.”

Well, only girls can come up with such kind of statements. What did she mean but “that kind of girl”? Did that mean “I’m not kind of girl who will get easily impressed. You will have to try very hard to impress me”. Or did that mean “I’m not the girl who wants to get into these relationships.” Or did that mean “I’m not kind of girl who will hate you for having crush on me”. Or did that mean “I’m not kind of girl who will find about crush by herself. You have to inform me in person”. Or did that mean…. Ok. Too many alternatives. Better to ask her.

I: What do you mean by *that* kind of girl?
She: Shut up.

Wow. That’s an innovative way to answer. Shut up. Two words. But when uttered with right intensity and pitch, create a fantastic impact. But why did she wanted me to shut up? Did i say anything wrong..? Anyways, its better not to ask for another clarification.

I: Sorry!!
She: Its okay.
I:(blank)
She: (with bit milder tone) So since when is this crush thing going?

Well, did that matter now? Are you gonna say yes if I say i’ve crush on you for 100 years. Or are you trying to find out the time invested by me on the crash and gonna calculate the ROI? Well, is their any return in the first place?

I: few months.
She: How many?

Well, she surely is trying to find out the time invested.

I: four months.
She: See Dinesh. You are a very nice guy.

If I’m really so nice guy, why are you not saying yes? Why are you trying to run away from me? Am I really a nice guy?

She: You are very nice, intelligent. Don’t fall into all these things. Concentrate on studies. You have big future in front of you.

Ya. All right. I have big future and there are many more girls who are gonna be part of my the crush story of my life. Thanks for making me realize that there are many more opportunities waiting for me in future.

I: Thanks. I hope there are no grudges in your mind. I just wanted to let you know the truth.
She: Of course. No grudges. Our friendship won’t change for this small thing.

Ohh.. so this is a small thing for us. Thank god. I thought for a moment that she will end up the friendship for this incidence. Or was I being too childish to think like that? Maybe yes..

She: Btw, on this Rakhi, am gonna tie you a Rakhi.

Well, now that was a tsunami. So big punishment for such a small mistake? Now I realize how girls use this small dhaga of rakhi to keep the guys under control. Now I was supposed to treat a girl as my sister. The same girl I had crush on few minutes ago. WTF..

So that was the end of my first crush. It ended up adding one more girl to my sister’s list.

* I had been to IdeaCamp Pune. The event went quite smoothly but too formally.

* I had been to Vasai fort for Fort conservation program. And left within an hour.

* Many of my blogger friends use del.icio.us and diggit kinda things. I don’t use then as the concept never clicked me.

* I’m enjoying my summer job. At the same time, looking forward to the results of first year which will be out anytime this month.

* I’m enjoying my stay at this 3 BHK flat in Bandra which we have taken on rent.

* I’m missing my best friend in college with whom I had an arguement few days back and now she is not talking to me.

* I have watched few movies in last fortnight but did not write reviews. The movies include Iron Man, BhootNath, 50 First Dates, Just My Luck, You me aur Hum etc

* My laptop is not working the service centre guys are taking too long to repair it. I’m not satisfied with Acer and advice all not to go for it.

* I may have a long vacation in July and my family is planning a tour during this time.

* I’m finding a need of networking. Knowing new people and talking to them increases your own capabilities.

* I want to read “The three mistakes of my life”. Already few books are there in my waiting list and I will have to also complete these ones.

* I’m planning to grow my hair long. Just the same way I plan always and then I cut them short when I get bored of maintaining them in a couple of months.

* I’ve fallen in love with the concept of “Barcamp”. I loved the spirit and enthusiasm with which these events take place. Best part is there is not the typical formal environment in these events.

* A friend of mine is planning to launch an IT company. I’m equally excited about it.

* Last few days, I did not put tags to my blogspots. And now its getting to boring to add tags to so many posts.

* Blogger has come up with a nice concept of future posts. Now I can put some posts in queue so that my blog never goes inactive

On 11th May, we have “4th Fort Conservation Workshop” at Vasai fort. This workshop is arranged twice a year from Sahyadrilovers group. During these workshops, we discuss various ways to preserve the hstorical heritage of forts and also tudy various ways implemented by numerous organisations towards the cause.

Between 14th-19th May, we have Animal Census in all the Sanctuaries. I always wanted to go for this but each time my exams have stopped me. This time its the summer job which will be preventing me from going for the Census.

On 17th May, Pune will host Ideacamp. This is a self-organized gathering to share ideas and see them shape by applying divergent thinking. The objective of the camp is to get people from different roles like designers, entrepreneurs, financers, creative minds, technology evangelists, product managers and marketers together to bandy ideas from everyone’s viewpoint. Ideally by end of the gathering we should have ‘proof of potential’ for our ideas. This is one event which will be very useful for new entrepreneurs.

On After 19th May, Prof Deshmukh {one of my professors at MIT} will host a session about Pavankhind Episode. Babasaheb Purandare will be the person who will be talking about the episode with the help of photographs clicked by Dr Deshmukh.

So too many events na. I don’t know how many of these events I will actually be able to attend. But am gonna try to atend as many as I can.

The journey that had started with continuous bugging to start a blog by Hardik Shah has today reached to a place where I can recollect many happy moments when I look back. You will see him in social events or party if only necessary. He is gifted with acting, so if he says he can not go out with you because he is sick, then you will belief him. He is a hard to please when it comes to what to eat, how to work, what kind of a woman to date. He always neat and tidy all the times, even if he is in the army, he will be the cleanest soldier in the camp. He likes to speak properly with no slang. He hates laziness and lazy people. He always act like a boring mature adults, but getting to know him , you will know he has his own charm. He always see things clearly, so he is not the type to be blinded by love. He is a kind and cool guy, but if constantly irritate with rudeness, ignorant, or stupidity then he will show you that he is annoyed. These days, I’m also working on a case study about the popular Marathi Stage Show “Marathi Bana”. Its a stage show consisting of 125 artists performing on stage simultaneously. It makes people aware of the Marathi culture that people are tending to forget these days. I happened to meet the director of the show Mr. Ashok Hande and was surprised to see how down to earth this person is. He talked to us even though he was in great hurry for an interview. He has also promised us a chance to get more refined and closer look at the things during the show on 23rd at Deenanath, Vile Parle. He also promised us an interview at a later stage.

I’m going to an industrial visit tomorrow to Parle – G. I don’t know how the visit is going to come up but hopefully we will have fun. If the visit doesn’t satisfy the purpose of learning, at least it will be a picnic for us. The day after tomorrow, we are going to watch the popular show “Marathi Bana” for the case study.

Will be updating you about the things. For the time being, this person has come to the point. So I better now concentrate on the slide show and the seminar.

August 21st: It was our introduction ceremony. We were told about college and its facilities etc. Same old thing like happens in every college. Best thing about the day was I met with my fellow classmates with whom I was in constant touch through orkut and messengers. And to tell you something, people actually found me very silent guy. I mean they were expecting a very dynamic kinda guy in me. But I turned out to be kinda introvert against their expectations. Well, I just said them one thing.. WAIT AND WATCH

August 22nd: We had been to “Chak De” today. Will write whole review of the movie soon. But for now, just know that its worth a watch. I was to this movie with new friends. And this friends still think I am very silent kinda guy totally opposite to their expectations. WAIT AND WATCH

Have started it today morning and have completed 50 pages by now. Few more remaining. Also two more books in pending list. Will let you know about the books once I complete those. Keep waiting

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

I don’t need to introduce him. He is one of the most well-known and most adorable personalities among the Indians, specially the youngsters.
Heard of him first time when India had the nuclear tests at Pokhran way back in 1997. That time, Abdul Kalam’s name was discussed as being the key scientist behind the success of the tests. Also later when he received the Barat Ratna, I got more familiar with his personality.
Born on 15th October 1931 at Rameswaram, in Tamil Nadu, Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, specialized in Aero Engineering from Madras Institute of Technology.
He initially worked in DRDO in 1958 and then joined ISRO in 1963. Dr. Kalam has made significant contribution to Indian satellite and launch vehicles of ISRO and also in the missile programme of DRDO. As project Director, SLV-III, he contributed for the design, development and management of India’s first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-III) to inject Rohini satellite in the near earth orbit. He was responsible for the evolution of ISRO’s launch vehicles programme and configurations. He rejoined DRDO in 1982 and conceived the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP) for indigenous missiles.
He was Scientific Adviser to Defence Minister and Secretary, Department of Defence Research & Development from July 1992 to December 1999.
As Chairman, Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), he generated the Technology Vision 2020 documents – a road map for transforming India from Developing India to Developed India. He provided overall guidance to a number of Homegrown Technology Projects and major technology missions such as Sugar, Advanced Composites and Fly Ash utilization.
Dr. Kalam has served as the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, in the rank of Cabinet Minister, from November 1999 to November 2001. He was primarily responsible for evolving policies, strategies and missions for generation of innovations and support systems for multiple applications. Also, generating science and technology task in strategic, economic and social sectors in partnership with Government departments, institutions and industry. Dr. Kalam was also the Chairman, Ex-officio, of the Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C).
Dr. Kalam took up academic pursuit as Professor, Technology & Societal Transformation at Anna University, Chennai and involved in teaching and research tasks. Above all he is on his mission to ignite the young minds for national development by meeting high school students across the country.
Dr. Kalam was conferred with the Degree of Doctor of Science (D.Sc. Honoris Causa) by 30 universities/academic institutions. He is recipient of several awards including the Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration 1997.
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has been awarded Padma Bhushan in 1981, Padma Vibhushan in 1990 and BHARAT RATNA in 1997. Dr. Kalam became the 11th President of India on 25th July 2002. His focus is on transforming India into a developed nation by 2020. He is among the most popular personalities among the youngsters.

Mr. N. R. Narayan Murthy

Another very well known face among the youngsters. He is the ideal for many people. Heard of him for the first time when he was invited in “Jeena Isis ka Naam Hai” on Zee TV. Later kept hearing and reading about him through various business magazines and news channels.
Mr. Narayana Murthy is undoubtedly one of the most famous persons from the IT industry. He is known not just for building the biggest IT empire in India but also for his simplicity. Almost every important dignitary visits Infosys campus. The beauty about his family is that they believe in sharing their wealth with the needy.
Born into a Kannadiga Deshastha Brahmin family in Mysore, India on August 20, 1946, he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from the National Institute of Engineering, University of Mysore in 1967 after attending government school, and received his master’s degree from IIT Kanpur in 1969.
He first took up a job at IIM Ahmedabad as Chief Systems Programmer. He then joined Patni Computer Systems in Pune. Before moving to Mumbai, Murthy met his wife Sudha Murthy in Pune who at the time was an engineer working at Tata Engineering and Locomotive Co. Ltd. (Telco, now known as Tata Motors) in Pune. In 1981, he founded Infosys with six other software professionals. He served as president of the National Association of Software and Service Companies, India from 1992 to 1994.
He has proved that one can progress in life even without using the malways. All one needs is have self confidence and the passion.

Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad

Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, an eminent educationist, thinker a devoted teacher and a dedicated social worker, is a man of great vision, who is totally committed to the development of technical education and the cause of raising the qualities of life of the Indian masses for the betterment of tomorrow.

Tulsi Tanti is the Chairman of Suzlon Energy Ltd, a company dealing in wind energy. He is one of those first time entrepreneurs who saw potential in an inchoate idea, ventured into it, and made it big. Today, he ranks among top 10 richest men of India.
I heard of him for the first time when the news of Suzlon making an attemp to buy REPowes and Areva hit the headlines on CNBC. Later I googled a bit about him and his firm “Suzlon”. And I got a fan of him very soon.
A commerce graduate and a diploma holder in mechanical engineering, Tulsi Tanti originally hails from Gujarat and is presently based in Pune, Maharashtra. Tulsi Tanti was earlier into textiles. He started his textile business in Gujarat. But he found that the prospects stunted due to infrastructural bottlenecks. The biggest of them all was the cost and unavailability of power, which formed a high proportion of operating expenses of textile industry.
In 1990, Tulsi Tanti invested in two windmills and realized its huge potential. In 1995, he formed Suzlon and gradually quit textiles. Suzlon Energy is the sixth largest wind energy company in the world and the largest in Asia. It is presently building what will be among the world’s largest wind parks of its kind at 1,000 MW capacity.
Suzlon is currently concentrating on global expansion drive. It recently acquired Hansen Transmissions, a Belgian maker of wind-turbine gearboxes. Suzlon is also building a rotor-blade factory in Minnesota and has invested $60m in a factory in Tianjin, China. Tulsi Tanti is poised to make India a wind-power export hub.
The company already ranks as the world’s eighth-largest producer of wind energy in terms of installed capacity to date. Tanti is aiming high and wants to close the gap with Suzlon’s biggest European competitors, Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems, Germany’s Enercon and Spain’s Gamesa. Suzlon’s surging revenues are only one-fifth those of Vestas, but the Indian outfit has been consistently profitable for six years. Vestas made losses in the last two years.

Dr. Sam Pitroda

Heard of him for the first time when he was awarded “Lokmanya Tilak Puraskar” in 2003. I was totally unaware of him till then. Then I googled a little about him and find out what a personality he is.

Satyanarayan Gangaram Pitroda, better known as Dr Sam Pitroda, born in Titlagarh, Orissa, is an inventor, entrepreneur and policymaker. Currently chairman of India’s National Knowledge Commission, he is also widely considered to have been responsible for India’s communications revolution. He is the Chairman and CEO of World-Tel Limited, an International Telecommunication Union (ITU) initiative. He holds many key technology patents, has been involved in several startups, and lectures extensively around the world on the implications of communications and information technology.
The name, Sam Pitroda can better be explained by the yellow phone booths all across India. Yes, it was mainly because of the efforts of this inventor, technocrat, and social thinker that telecom revolution started in India. It is interesting to know that Sam Pitroda first used a telephone only after moving to the US! The biggest virtue of Sam Pitroda is that he has a definite vision to use technology for the benefit and betterment of society. Along with being a pioneer in telecom, Sam Pitroda has made strong case for food, clean water, and adequate shelter for the unprivileged section. Through his efforts, Sam Pitroda has brought telephones to some of the world’s previously isolated regions. In the field of telecom, Sam’s emphasis was on accessibility rather than density.
By providing public access to telephones, Mr. Sam Pitroda revolutionized the state of telecommunications in India. Currently, Mr. Pitroda is the Chairman and CEO of World-Tel Limited, an International Telecom Union (ITU) initiative. He is also the Chairman and Founder of Sevend high-technology. Sam Pitroda is also the founding Chairman of a non-profit Foundation for’ Revitalization of Local Health Traditions in India. As a result of his pioneering works, Sam Pitroda holds more than 50 patents and has lectured extensively on Telecom, Technology and Development, in almost all parts of the world. Sam Pitroda has also featured in several newspapers, magazines, radio and TV programs.
He is also the founder and CEO of C-SAM, Inc, and serves as a director on the board of Jet Airways. C-SAM has developed an m-Commerce application by the name OneWallet. The company has offices in London, Tokyo, and offshore development centres in India in Mumbai and Vadodara. He has served as an advisor to the United Nations and in 1992, his biography was published, and became a bestseller.
In 1984, Mr. Pitroda was invited to return to India by the then Prime Minister Mrs. Gandhi; on his return he founded the Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) under the Indian government. In 1987, he became advisor to Mrs. Gandhi’s successor, Rajiv Gandhi and was responsible for shaping India’s foreign and domestic telecommunications policies. He is largely considered responsible for the telecommunications revolution in India and specifically, the ubiquitous, yellow-signed Public Call Offices (PCO) that quickly brought cheap and easy domestic and international public telephones all over the country.
For the subsequent decade, Pitroda continued his business interests in computer manufacturing and software. When the 2004 elections were declared, Rahul Gandhi asked for his help for a small committee that he was forming to advise him on policy issues.
When the United Progressive Alliance government came to power following the 2004 General Elections, the Dr. Manmohan Singh recruited him to head the National Knowledge Commission.

Mr. Babasaheb Purandare

Known affectionately as “Shivshahir” (loosely translated, “Bard of Shivaji”), Babasaheb Purandare has dedicated his life to Chhatrapati Shivaji. The fruit of his ceaseless struggle to find and display the history of Maharashtra’s golden period is the biography written by him, “Raja Shivchhatrapati”. Of course, his fictional novels set in that period also show his love for history, and the firm grasp of historical facts as well as lyrical genius.
He is also an ideal for the trekkers and Sahyadri lovers. He has been into trekking the forts of sahyadri at the times when very few people were interested into knowing about Sahyadri forts. Babasaheb have also played important role in forming National Education Foundation, a group actively involved into the organising of Adventure race “Enduro3″ and also in various adventure activities. Babasaheb is also playing the role of chief matron in “rajashivaji.com”, a website dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (launching soon) which will also be the biggest website dedicated to a single person.

The results of MBA-CET written test are out. MY CET score is 108 out of 200 (That makes 95.72 percentile). Now GD and PI is remaining which are scheduled on 25th May, 2007. You should oppologise publicly so that whole world should know you have done a mistake. This will always remind you of not repeating the same mistake again.”

After that very busy 1 month, I got Diwali holidays. And I’m enjoying it. I got new speakers. So these days, I’m just listening to my favourite gazals.
Its Diwali time. So lots and lots of sweets.
Recently got new DVD writer and also a 1 GB USB drive. So data transfer is on the high end.
Nothing much to share at present. But stay tuned for more updates.

So by these experiences, I am assured of my security atleast at the banks. But I will advise you to keep taking trials much often. Specially at the crowded places like bus stop, railway stations etc. which form an easy target for the anti-national elements.
After all, Citizen Brigade can best fight the terrorism.

On my first day, when i took my first class, I realised that the students are too mischievous and they don’t want to study at all. I was regretting my own decision to do something for these students..

Then, after lecture, few students came to me and asked me to be little strict so that these students can atleast listen. They were unable to learn due to few mischievous students.

Then one guy, whom i hadn’t allowed to enter as he was late, came to me to say sorry. I realised that this guy works from 2 AM – 7:30 AM and then comes to college. There are few more students who need to work for learning.

Then i decided to do something for those students. I started being strict. Mischieves were immidiately thrown out of the class, late comers and class disturbers were not allowed. Many times late comers have genuine problem but rules have to be same for all. Anyways, i repeat everything when the latecomers come in staff room asking for the part.

Main problem with the education system here is teachers are not interested in extra work. They just talk a little, dictate notes and consider their job is over. They are never willing to solve doubts. I made a change here. I started solving even silliest doubts of them. And once 2-3 students’ doubts were solved, more students started approaching me with doubts..

The students are also not much interested in asking doubts. Rather they are too afraid to ask it in class. So many times they come to staff room to ask me doubts. Staff room or class room, important thing is they should ask each and every doubt. And after second day, situation was like they started asking me even doubts in other subjects. And i never said no..

Now I’m sure that my decision was correct and I have to work harder for the same. And btw, I’m also popular amongst my superiors. My princi and director is very happy with my performance. So its too good feeling.

Only thing is i miss my old days. Every small thing here reminds me of my days in MNT. I just want to leave those 3 years again… If only it would have been possible..

Anyways, now I’ve joined the institute and I need to give best of my
efforts for the betterment of it. Will be needing good wishes of all

Day before’s rains braught up my old memories that made me cry. And yesterday’s rain came up with a call from Mumbai saying I’m placed. Yup.. I got placed in Akna Infotech and I’ll be joining from 10th July. Great, isn’t it?

Yesterday, Something reminded me of this Shayri. There is a guy X whom I hate due to some past events. Whenever someone takes his name in front of me, I remember my past and get nervous.
At the same time, he was best friend of one of my best friend Y. Y can’t tolerate anyone to say anything about X.
So yesterday, X and Y met and X hurt Y. So Y was nervous and I had to council her. Every time I was talking about X, I was getting more and more hurt from inside. I was just wondering when I will collapse. Luckily nothing like that happened and Y didn’t come to know about all the things.
I just hope the name of X will never appear in my life again.

Today, first time in my life when I took Table Tennis racket in my hand.
Yup.. Today I played table tennis for almost an hour. And Guess what, it was great !!! My friends always used to say me, “Dinesh, you need to play. You need to take more interest in sports.” Even I always wanted to play sports but there was always an inferiority complex in me. I had decided never to play any sport and get laughed.
But, my colleagues from MIT NCC Troop realized this and they started inspiring me towards sports.
So we started playing badminton. Today, I was playing badminton with Megha. At the same time, Alok was busy playing table tennis with Monika. So, Megha said let’s go and play carrom. We went in the gymkhana building. There we saw Alok and Monika playing Table tennis.
When Monika left for home, me and Megha took the rackets. Alok told me the rules once. And then we started. We both were kinda new to this game. But still we played a few good games. Of course, credit goes to our coach Mr. Alok Gaokar.
Now, the inferiority complex has been replaced by the zest of learning new games. They are best solution for any problem in life.

I don’t know why don’t people like to confirm before spreading the news. One of my friend forwarded me this message. (Actually many frineds forwarded but I am talking about one of them). When I asked him whether he has confirmed the news before forwarding, his reaction was the person who sent me this is himself a doctr. So it must be true. Hmmm.. So now doctors in this country have got a new duty. Journalist. Good..
All you journalists out there, go away. We have got a lot of doctors in our country. We don’t need you now. And due to increased seats proposed by Arjun singh, we will be getting more and more doctors every year. So go and find some other business for you.

I found this cartoon in orkut profile of one of my friend and looking at it, I thought this surely matches my condition. Though I’m not perfectly like this, I’m getting audicted towards net. Net is obviously such a wonderful thing that everyone will be audicted to it..

On 3rd Feb we (Me and Dhiraj) visited Omkareshwar temple.
Omkareshwar Temple was constructed during the tenure of Sadashivrao Bhau on the banks of the Mutha river. It is well known for its massive stone structure which survived the floods of Panshet (1962). This temple also hosts the Samadhi of “Chimaji Appa Peshwa” (Elder brother of First Bajirao Peshwa) and his wife who sacrificed her life after Chimaji Appa’s death in 1737. This tradition is calles as “Sati” in India.

We had a traditional day on 4th Feb. All college was looking colorful with everyone representing their culture. I’ve got a few snaps of all the events and will upload them very soon.

My computer is not working so I’m unable to put up things in my blog for quite few days. Hoping fast recovery of my comp so that I can start blogging again.

Every trek was great in itself.. We were 8 guys for Tikona night trek and 3 for Sarasgad. We were 18 for K2S but 5 of them went back after 2 hills as one guy Abhishek got asthma attack..
I can’t forget the 50 feet rockpatch in Tikona and also Sarasgad, the first trek with Hooman (An Irani guy in my class) will be always in my memories..
The big group in K2S will be always placed in my memories of treks..
Nilkantheshwar was li’l fast and unplanned but it turned out very well. The lot of statues at the temple are just great and they will definitely make you stay there for quite a lot of time… Will post the photos very soon.. Till then, stay connected

It rained a lot today. These rains remind me of my childhood when I used to enjoy the panoramic view of rains through home window. I always wanted to go out and enjoy the rains. But due to health problem, was never able to.
Now, I do all these things I missed in childhood. Go and get wet. Welcome the rains with arms wide open. Let the rains feel good to shower you with diamonds of water drops.
Today, Abhijeet told me he wants to get wet and I just wanted someone to accompany me. We went on terrace of hostel and enjoyed rains for a long time.
These rains reminded me of the Tikona trek we enjoyed in heavy shower and also the Sudhagad trek where I enjoyed best rains till now….
Expecting some more thundershower to satisfy me desire…..

Katraj-Sinhagad was my first night trek.
Tung-Lohagad was also never forgettable experience due to the unusual way we used for climbing lohagad.
The dense forests of Vasota were unmentionablly great.. Also it was my best organised trek (I think so)..
And the beauty of Harishchandragad and Konkankada: well, no doubt about it.
I will always remember Vispaur for the unplanned night stay without food and water at the top.
First visit to Lohagad will be remembered for the “Suhana Mausam”…
Tung: This fort always played hide and seek with me and i got it finally in third attempt..
And also many more treks remaining to mention..

Recently I had been to Vasota alias Vyghragad on 26,27,28 Feb. This trek was organized by MIT NCC TROOP mostly for enjoyment purpose, unlike my last trek of Harishchandragad which was for clean-up purpose. Still, I continued my clean-up process on this fort also.

However, this fort didn’t offer me anything to clean except some garbage thrown by my own fellow mates. The lamp which gives light to the world can’t brighten the area exactly below it. Same was the thing here. The point to discuss is, before telling the world to keep the historical places clean, we have to teach it to our own friends. And worst thing these friends of mine gave me WTF look when I asked them to keep the place clean. If the so called trekkers and literate people will behave this way, should we expect any better from the illiterate ones?
This was a 3 days, 2 nights trek. Our night stay was at Bamnoli village. Various cultural events were carried out in the beautiful surroundings of Koyna backwaters. However, care was taken that the enjoyment doesn’t disturb the local people.

Situated on the western edge of Satara district, this old warrior offers one of the most thrilling trek in the Sahyadri as far as trekking through forestation is concerned. Dense forest all the way through, panoramic view of the Shivsagar lake in the east and Konkan on the west, wonderful cave at Nageshwar for a stay, makes this a fort of special interest for amateur trekkers.
Though not too much of remnants are present on Vasota, the view of Koyna backwaters on one side and Kokan on the other side is quite satisfying. The Mahadev temple at the top can also be used as shelter for a small group of 5-6 people. One can also check out the Babu Kada and old Vasota.
Dense forest is really a thrilling but enjoyable experience. Take care of being in a group all the time! Anyhow try to reach Vasota in a day time. If one wishes to have a stay at Nageshwar (which is most preferred), then leave Vasota by 3 pm. max, because the forest on the way to Nageshwar is still denser. Way to Nageshwar goes to the right, just about 10-15 min before the top of Vasota. Water cistern at Nageshwar is situated to the right (on about 5 min distance), just before the steps to the cave.

These days, forest department doesn’t allow to have night halt on the Vasota side or Met Indavali village. So, Bamnoli is ideal spot for night stay. An amount of 20/- is charged for entering the forests of Vasota. Also, 75/- for each launch is charged by the forest department.

Aim:- 1) To cleanup the way to fort, the fort surrounding.
2)To remove graphiti from walls of temple and caves
3) To remove names written in paint on the walls
4) Educate local people about the issue

What we did:
* We collected garbage on the way to fort and on the fort. Totally 7 big bags of garbage was collected. The most pathetic thing was we got more than 3000 wrappers of Goa Gutkha as if the company has sponsered the visits to the fort. We were thinking to change the name of fort from Harishchandragad to Goagad
* Some part of graphiti was removed from the temple walls.
* The names written by oil paint was not removed as it might harm to the heritage walls of fort (due to acid or turpentine oil) . We left it for Archeological Survey of India.
* We talked to local people on the fort about the issue and got a really good response from them.
* Also we talked with fellow trekkers and some of them really helped us with the work but most of them gave us a WTF look.

Future plans:
The NGO is planning to clean all forts in Sahyadri in a duration of a year. Along with garbage collection and removal of graphiti and painted things, they are also undertaking the work to clean up the ponds on these great heritage of history.

What we expect from you:
We expect some basic things from all fellow trekkers.
1)Don’t throw your garbage on any fort. Carry it with you and throw in some dustbin.
2)Carry other garbage also which you find on the fort or the way.
3)Don’t disturb beauty of the great heritage by writing anything on the walls of forts or on rocks.
4)Always try to keep the water in the ponds clean and potable.
5)No gutkha, smoking or drinking on the fort. The beauty of nature is itself a great “Nasha” and you don’t need anything else with it.
6)Pass along this message to all the fellow trekkers you come across.

Remember only we can preserve the real beauty of Sahyadri. Come and help us with our project. Without your help, we can’t do it.

the route is something like this

Walk towards Bhaje caves by stairs. There is a path towards left from the third electric pole on the route. This path leads you to the top of Bhaje hill. Take right turn and a little walk at the top will take you to Visapur fort. For confirmation that you are on right track, this way goes through Dhangarwadi.

anyone tried this route before?

we had planned trek to Tung. But unfortunately, we missed 9 am boat and next was 6 hours later.

private boats were charging nearly 400 Rs.

so, we decided to climb another fort visible from Ambegaon ie Lohagad..

to reach this fort via this route, there is a Payvat starting from a farm next to “Pape Da Dhaba”.

Dhyaneshwar Temple in Ambegaon can be another landmark.

but here onwards, it’s very difficult to find the way

no regular Payvats are present and we’ve to find our own way throughout the route

or it may be the thing that we missed the Payvats and so, had to form it ourselves

even the fort is not visible after some time as we have to climb down the valley

so, just keep a magnetic compass with you and keep going towards North with every possible route

it is nearly 3 hour trek upto Lohgad fort and we can reach the fort without visiting the Lohagadwadi

i hope there is no need to give information about Lohgad as everyone will be aware with it

The Jan. didn’t turn up much except the Mumbai visit for Tech-fest which gave me strength to participate this year.

In Feb. I joined hands with the MIT NCC TROOP after I got the offer to design their website. Also my first major trek (PEB) came up in the same month.

July gave the Lohagad trek. In the same month I joined the tekdi organization which is now a part of my life. And most unforgettable thing about this month, I met with my sweetheart Pallavi in the same month.

August came up with the beautiful Tikona trek on first day only.

December was most action packed month for me. This was the month when I became the JBC for MIT. I got a cap from Tekdi for being most active member on the portal. Didi’s marriage was a big event in this month and also in my life. December gave me my most awaited trek of Katraj-Sinhagad as goodbye gift.

Overall, 2004 was my best year till date. Let’s hope 2005 turns up even better.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROHAN.

When i started blogging, i was watching hardik and started writing technical blogs. But, i am not a technical person. So, it was just a Tie Tie Fish.

Later i started writing everything i like maybe technical or non-technical. Then came Devendra on blogs. Reading his blogs, i got new idea about how a blog should be written.

Devendra once gave me link to Salil’s blog, which, frankly speaking, is best blog i saw.

Kedar Bhave also joined little late but he stopped blogging, maybe due to exams.

Ruman prefers writing about his literature which i rarely understand.

After reading all those blogs, i’ve decided to write the blogs in both technical and nontechnical ways.

I will share my views with readers of my blog and also keep you informed with latest in my interested fields…
